Emirates (where Dubai is if anyone’s confused) = “parasitic upon monogamous societies for technology, (?*)resources, and (?**)succor for emigrants.”
*not sure to what extent this is but I’ve always thought they were as independent as any developed nation.
*whose emigrants? From Dubai, nope. I would add they’re also parasitic upon people from other traditions who are monogamous.
In America, people are practicing all these forms as far as I know. They may not be able to get all the legislative benefits but they are doing it in the sense that matters. I’m not sure if it’s a allowed, legally endorsed or encouraged scenarios that you’re speaking of.
Anyway, you knew what sense I was speaking about it from, though the wider social implications to deserve a mention. Well, there should be opportunity to talk about this in the future.

The flipside is that monogamy is a MUCH greater sacrifice for a man than for a woman. Like, not even close.
This is the case both from a purely reproductive standpoint (he’s theoretically giving up the option to plant his seed in innumerable hundreds of women; she’s not) and from a psychophysical standpoint (men want and value sexual variety much, much more than women do).
Not even close. These days playas can fuck a hundred women, but with contraception and abortion, not produce a single child into adulthood: reproductive success: 0.
Most women today hold out for marriage or at least a LTR to allow themselves to conceive. Look at the Duggars. 18 kids and counting. He’s been with one woman and his reproductive success surpasses every modern alpha male.
