Is there a gap between the requirements of a job, and the characteristics of an applicant or incumbent.
And if there is a gap, is it so large that you cannot hire an applicant, or that you really need to find an alternative role for an incumbent?
Or is it only a small gap, such that training would do the trick?
Or is it a negative gap (which means the applicant of incumbent exceeds the requirements of the job), such that you might suggest consider the person for a job with greater responsibilities, perhaps pull the person in for some succession planning? |
