Help! My tools are taking much too long to open - they are so slow!
It is likely that your PC's temp folders are clogged with temp files.
And then, once your PC is 'clean', from then on, try to resist the urge to interrupt the PC when it is trying to close down a file. In particular, try to avoid hitting the physical 'off' button on the PC box. Go the slow way instead: Start / Shut Down ... and then, wait.
