As part of our push as agents for DHS to install and support the residential statement app to CSOs, a large logistical exercise, from November 2010 we will be installing the EMSOnline platform to host this app (no cost to the above CSOs), replacing the previous platform ("Gateway", now decommissioned).
The reasons for this are logistical: EMSOnline is used by DHS itself, and it was becoming resource-prohibitive to maintain two platforms, one for DHS, and one for CSOs.
Please email Damien.Ryan@RosterCoster.com (in charge of installations from November 2010) and he will respond within 7 days to install, after which Christine Tiernan will be in contact within 7 days to orient you to the new data control centre (and ensure you are comfortable with the residential statement app).
Update on EMSOnline
EMSOnline platform allows "design your own app" and "design your own reports" at much lower cost than would be the case if you were doing this in the absence of such a platform, and we note that "design your own reports" is becoming popular for creating tailored reports out of raw data downloaded from www.RosterCoster.com, where the cost of developing these reports for a single organisation within the www.RosterCoster.com app would be cost-prohibitive, in the absence of economy of scale.
We refer to this approach, where two pieces of software team up, as "horses for courses" - some platforms and apps do some some things better than others, and it's often a bad strategy to try to get one platform or app to do things it is not suited for, especially in terms of cost benefit.
