Benefits include:
- A staff member can log his or her availability online, for example, from a home PC or a web-enabled mobile phone. N.b. we always put in place a process to allow staff who cannot get online to have their availabilities logged, as well, but this becomes a case of double handling for the very few, rather than the entire workforce.
- A supervisor or manager or trusted staff member can 'see', on a single screen online, the staff who are available for a shift.
- Our system is, essentially, a single screen, so formal training for all staff is not necessary.
- We have implemented it in five government-managed organisations so far, and it works much better than all the other systems we previously put into those workplaces.
- All the while, we are keeping costs low, in terms of the benefits we think we can demonstrate will accrue if you get on board with this new platform.
